Yin Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation

An all levels class that compliments more active styles of yoga practice, exercise, or a busy lifestyle.

Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with floor poses, or asanas, that are held for longer periods of time—3-5 minutes per pose is typical. Yin Yoga is great for calming the nervous system while stimulating the connective tissue. Yin Yoga emphasizes stillness and silence and prepares both the body and the mind for deeper experiences in meditation.

Mindfulness meditation and gentle breath work are interwoven to help center you within your practice. This is a non-flow class accessible to all shapes, sizes, and abilities.

*This class will involve the following props you can find in your own home:

  • 2 yoga blocks or sturdy books of similar size,
  • Yoga bolster, if you have one Or a blanket (firm/heavy)
  • 1 blanket (firm/heavy blanket work best like Mexican style or wool)
  • 1 yoga strap or belt
  • A clean and quiet place on the floor on a yoga mat/blanket/carpet
