This week, in preparation for Thanksgiving, some of Common Ground’s practitioners will be sharing a few things for which they’re grateful. We so appreciate their willingness to share, and hope it inspires others to take a moment to reflect on what makes them thankful, and perhaps even share it with us in the comments below.
First up is Star Matthews, a massage therapist with Common Ground:
There are so many things to be grateful for and the when the darkness falls upon us in autumn these three things bring me the most joy and light.
1. The life force being nurtured and developed in my two beautiful children, and for The Charlottesville Waldorf School for holding them in beauty and light and rhythm while I am at work.
2. The Awakening Women Institute for inspiring my yogini practice, and the early desire to embody the divine feminine in all that I do. The Awakening Women Institute defines a yogini as “A woman devoted to a life lived with totality of heart, with fierce truth, with compassion and unconditional love. She practices for her own radiant embodiment of awakening and love as well as for the healing of all sentient beings.”
3. My healing arts practice, where I can help clients find ease, balance and sacredness in their lives while tapping deep within their own resources for strength and healing. This is offered through TRUST; loving, skilled therapeutic touch; and breath work. It truly is a gift to be able to offer my services at Common Ground Healing Arts and to the larger Charlottesville Community.
Star is available Wednesdays from 9am-12:30pm, and Fridays from 9am-12pm. To schedule a massage with Star call 434-218-7677 or schedule online here.
