Finding Serenity in Sobriety

Let’s enter into the new year with some lightness and serenity!

Ease into 2021 with gentle yoga movements to connect with the body’s wisdom, guided meditations to calm the mind, self massage to soothe tension, and yogic and recovery wisdom for inspiration. Plus essential oils and relaxation techniques to really drop in and give the body the healing it needs and deserves.

The 6 Tenets of Yoga of Recovery will be used as a guide and theme for each week: Life is Longing, Life is Prana, Life is Sweet, Life is Relationship, Life is Love and Life is Progress.

This class is accessible to all bodies and previous experience with yoga is not needed. To participate you must have a minimum of 30 days sobriety. Chitra has 17 years of experience teaching yoga, 5 years as a yoga therapist and is in her tenth year of sobriety.

This course will be offered on Thursdays, 6:30pm – 8:00pm, January 7th through February 11th, 2021. This is a live virtual class held via Zoom. The meeting link will be sent in your registration confirmation email.

Chitra Kate McDevitt has been teaching hatha yoga since 2003 and practicing yoga therapy since 2014, she is E-RYT 500 and C-IAYT. Chitra‘s path has been one of finding the intersection of ancient yogic wisdom and modern mental health healing practices. Her training’s include Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, Raja Yoga (Philosophy), Lotus Palm Thai Massage, Craniosacral Therapy, Restorative Yoga and meditation with The Living Earth School. Chitra also spent four years living and studying yoga at Satchidananda Ashram and has been studying with Durga Leela of Yoga of Recovery since 2011.
