Yoga for Beginners: May 24 – June 28, 2017

Are you new(ish) to yoga and ready to grow your confidence? Lili Powell is offering a highly-requested Yoga for Beginners Series designed for folks who are familiar with yoga basics, but want one more safe stepping stone before diving into Level 1 & 2 drop-in classes. This welcoming and interactive 6-week series is open to all ages and bodies, but is best if you already do some form of physical movement, are returning to yoga, or have taken Intro to Yoga. (While Yoga for Beginners intentionally builds upon the warm and supportive environment of Common Ground’s Intro series, it is not a pre-requisite.)

In the Yoga for Beginners Series, you will learn how yoga can help you reduce stress and enjoy increasing your fitness, health and overall well-being. Lili will start by reviewing basic yoga poses and breathing, while answering practical “how to” refresher questions. The series progresses to beginners’ yoga sequences that follow the rhythm and style of a typical drop-in class. Throughout, Lili supplements the series with information about the roots, science, and benefits of yoga. Weekly topics may include somewhat more advanced yoga practice, such as how to adopt a “beginner’s mind” or practice balance on and off the mat by grounding, centering and working with resistance.

This course will be offered on Wednesdays, 5:30-6:45pm from May 24th through June 28th. As a bonus, you’ll receive a free pass for you and a friend to take a 7th class at Common Ground! We will be happy to point you toward a yoga style and teacher that is right for you.

This 6 week series is being offered Pay-What-You-Can $30-$120. The value is of this series is $120. You may sign-up from here.

From the online link above you can pay for the series in increments of $10 between $30-$90. If you would like to pay a different amount between $30-$120 you may do so by calling us at 434-218-7677 and paying over the phone, or visiting us at our Jefferson School location when we have other services going on.

This series will require a minimum of 10 people to be signed-up. If we haven’t hit the minimum we will contact those already signed up so that we all have chance to recruit a friend or two in the last few days!

Please note: refunds are not available for missed classes. No substitutions. Cancellations for this series must be made 24 hours in advance of the first class.

About Lili Powell: Lili enjoys leading well-rounded, intro and multi-level classes in a warm and welcoming environment. Lili has practiced yoga since 2000 and completed the Yoga Source 200-hour teacher training in 2005. In addition to studying yoga, she also practices Pilates and mindfulness meditation. Off the mat, Lili teaches executives how to lead more mindfully, expand their leadership presence, and move mountains to make a difference in their worlds. Learn more about her work.
