This 6 week series with Kelsey Gillan will explore the benefits of Yin Yoga. Yin Yoga involves holding poses for longer periods of time (often 3 to 5 minutes, sometimes more) in order to release deep tissue and increase blood flow. The slow moving, meditative pace leads to clarity of the mind, and the extended holds result in increased joint mobility and range of motion. Join Kelsey for a journey through the meridians that will promote circulation of energy to even the deepest corners of your being.
Settle into stillness, and experience the sensations of subtle movement as you travel inward. Find a deeper understanding of floor poses and props, and new meaning to balance and stretching. With each session artfully created to target a different meridian, walk away feeling more open and light as energy passes freely through your body and brings ease into your daily life.
This 6 week course will be offered Wednesdays, 7pm – 8:15pm from September 6th – October 11th 2017.
You can pay online for the series in increments of $10 between $30-$120. You are also welcome to pay over the phone at 434-218-7677, or in person at our Jefferson School location when we have other services going on.
The course will require a minimum of 8 people to be signed up. If we haven’t hit the minimum we will contact those already signed up so we can all have a chance to recruit a friend or two in the last few days. This class is capped at 18 participants.
Please note: refunds are not available for missed classes. No substitutions. Cancellations for this series must be made 24 hours in advance of the first class.
About the instructor, Kelsey Gillan:
Kelsey Gillan has been practicing yoga since 2007. She is a graduate of James Madison University, where she studied Public Health which gave her the foundation to build a life dedicated to holistic living. As her practice rooted, Kelsey recognized an opportunity and desire to expand her health degree by teaching yoga. Kelsey blends her health knowledge and personal experiences to develop yoga classes accessible for all levels. Kelsey teaches yin and vinyasa to the rhythm of music, with the use of props, gentle assists, and personal attention. She hopes to inspire her students’ growth in their yoga practice, and to find courage that transpires off the mat.
