Tending the Joints – Weekend Yin Yoga to Create Space and Mobility
An all levels class that compliments more active styles of yoga practice, exercise, or a busy lifestyle.
Yin Yoga is practiced entirely on the floor and it is characterized by its slow, meditative pace focused on stimulating the connective tissue. Postures are held in a reclined or seated position for 3-5 minutes. Yin Yoga emphasizes stillness and silence and prepares both the body and the mind for a deeper meditative experience.
We will work the space between our knees and navel, the hips, pelvis and spine, to create space and mobility in our tightest areas. Energetically, we open the body’s meridian system to allow the continuous flow of Qi (chi). Psychologically, we practice being, allowing and contentment to balance our active, stressful yang lives.
This practice is appropriate for brand new beginners to those who are quite familiar with yoga practices. Yin Yoga is great for those experiencing joint pain, athletes who experience joint challenges due to muscular over-use and all of us in between.
This course will be offered on Saturdays, March 3rd – April 7th.
April 14th is set aside as an inclement weather make-up day. Common Ground follows PVCC’s inclement weather policy, and cancellations are announced via pvcc.edu.
You can pay online for the series in increments of $10 between $30-$120. You are also welcome to pay over the phone at 434-218-7677, or in person at our Jefferson School location when we have other services going on.
