Have you been curious about yoga, but hesitated to try it because you don’t think you have a “yoga body”? Would you like to gain more strength and flexibility in a way that works for your body right now, just as it is?
Curvy Yoga was created to help you cultivate a yoga practice that is body affirming and meets you where you are.
People in large, stiff, or inflexible bodies, as well as brand new beginners, can benefit from this gentle practice.
We move at a slower pace, using options and props to make each pose work for each body.
We connect with our breath. We learn to appreciate our bodies just a little bit more. All bodies welcome and respected.
This series will be offered Saturdays, 12:00-1:15pm, from February 18th through April 1st **Please note: class will not be held Saturday, March 18th because of Common Ground’s Sit-a-thon fundraiser (but come join us for that! It’s a great day. Details). April 8th is set aside as an inclement weather make-up day. Common Ground follows PVCC’s inclement weather policy, and cancellations are announced via pvcc.edu.

About the instructor, Karen Barker: Karen was interested in yoga for about ten years before attending her first yoga class, because she thought her body was not a yoga body. She fell in love with yoga during that first class, and it is her passion and joy to share the practice of yoga with others — particularly with those who may be reluctant to try yoga for the same reasons she once was. Karen is a 200-hour registered teacher with Yoga Alliance and holds certifications in Yoga For All and Curvy Yoga.
