Massage Therapists/ Bodyworkers

Scroll down to learn about Common Ground’s Massage Therapists and Zero Balancing practitioners and their specialties. We know that many of these terms can be unfamiliar, and so we created a glossary of Massage/ Bodywork types here. If this is your first time getting a massage, trying out a Swedish Massage can be a great place to start.

When you come in for a massage, the Massage Therapist will do a brief conversational consultation about why you are interested in having a massage. After the consultation, the Massage Therapist will leave the room and give you time to undress and get under the sheets and blankets. Most of our clients choose to be fully undressed under the sheets and blankets, but you are welcome to undress to your comfort level. The Massage Therapist will knock to make sure you have had time to get under the sheets.

If you prefer to stay fully clothed, Common Ground strongly recommends that you try Zero Balancing (ZB). Clients remain fully clothed during all ZB sessions. As such, please wear loose, comfortable clothes if you are coming in for ZB.

If you are ready to schedule you can book online from here, or give us a call at 434-218-7677.

Jessie TostoJessica Tosto, second only to raising two children, the most precious part of my life has been providing services as a massage therapist.  My experience is that the transformation taking place during massage transcends explicable aspects of healing and remains a creative mystery.  Artistic joy is for me found in the plasticity of this realm and the realization of possibility.

My work is a synthesis of over twenty years experience in modalities including Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial, craniosacral, reflexology, and acupressure.  That being said, it is not so much the doing as it is the allowing of well-being.  Discretionary time will often find me with music, as I play flute in multiple bands and flute choirs.  Having begun lessons at age 55, my motto is “It’s never too late!”  In that vein, I began training for the C’ville 10-miler at age 63.
